Blue Ocean Salon | “Industry Self-discipline – APP Personal Information and Rights Protection” Blue Ocean Salon Seminar Successfully Held

On April 16, the "Industry Self-discipline - APP Personal Information and Rights Protection" Blue Ocean Salon Seminar jointly organized by Internet Society of China and China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as "CAICT") was successfully held in Beijing. Wang Zhen, Director of the Service Supervision Division of the Information and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and Wang Zhiqin, Vice President of CAICT attended the meeting and delivered speeches. More than 150 representatives from nearly 80 Internet companies attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Song Mao’en, Deputy Secretary-General of Internet Society of China.
In his speech, Wang Zhen introduced the work of MIIT in the protection of APP personal information and the relevant requirements for enterprises. Wang Zhiqin introduced the work progress of CAICT in policy research, standard formulation, and testing capabilities related to APP personal information protection.
In the expert introduction session, Tang Libo, Director of the Industrial Internet Department of the Institute of Technical Standards of CAICT, introduced the overall situation of personal information protection and interpreted relevant policies and regulations. Other experts from the Technical Standards Institute of the CAICT then introduced the “Interim Provisions on the Protection and Management of APP Personal Information (Draft for Comment)”, the main points and methods of APP personal information protection testing. Experts from Taier Terminal Lab introduced the key standards for APP personal information protection.
In the enterprise sharing session, representatives from Alibaba, Xiaomi, Jiexingxinyuan and other enterprises introduced the exploration and practice in APP personal information protection. In the exchange and discussion session, the participants and experts had a lively discussion on the specific problems encountered in the work.
