The First Plenary Meeting of The First Session of Internet Industry Social Responsibility Construction Working Committee of ISC Held In Beijing

On December 27, 2021, the 1st Plenary Meeting of the 1st session of Internet Industry Social Responsibility Construction Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Committee") of the Internet Society of China (ISC), was held in Beijing. Representatives from 45 member units attended the conference online and offline. The meeting was presided over by Song Mao’en, Deputy Secretary-General of ISC.
Song Mao’en read out the “ISC Decision to Establish the Internet Industry Social Responsibility Construction Working Committee”. He said Internet companies need to move toward comprehensive norms, operate in accordance with laws and regulations, actively fulfill their social responsibilities in their development process, and jointly build a healthy and orderly cyberspace.
The Meeting deliberateed and approved the “Work Rules of Internet Industry Social Responsibility Construction Working Committee of ISC (draft)” and “Election Method of the First Session of Leadership of the Internet Industry Social Responsibility Construction Working Committee of ISC (draft)”. Huang Chengqing, Vice President of ISC was elected Director of the first session of the committee, and representatives from 12 companies, including Alibaba, Baidu, JD.com, Meituan, Didi, Bytedance, Qi’anxin, 360, Dewu, Tencent and Ctrip, were elected deputy chairmen of the first session. Zhao Xinxin, Deputy Director of Theil Certification Institute of CAICT, was elected as the first Secretary-General of the Committee.
Mr. Huang clarified that under the guidance of ISC and the joint efforts of all vice-president and member units, the working committee will be built into a good communication platform between the government, the industry and the general public, and jointly promote the continuous enhancement of corporate responsibility awareness and good practices, and the responsible image of the industry can gradually be known and recognized by the public, contributing to the healthy and sustainable development of the Internet industry.
