Training on Internet Governance and Chinese Domain Names Successfully Held (1)

On May 21, the Training on Internet Governance and Chinese Domain Names was jointly organized by the Internet Society of China (ISC), together with the Research Base of International Cyberspace Governance (RBICG) and the Internet Governance and Legal Research Center (IGLRC) under Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. It is the first session of the series of training programs that it will be organized in different universities in following months, covering topics from global Internet governance, domain name system governance, to Chinese domain name development, young generation’s involvement into Internet governance. Over 100 students participated in the training via online.
Pei Wei, Deputy Secretary General of ISC, said that young people are the future of the Internet as well as one of the important stakeholders to engage into Internet governance. She expected that this event will offer basic background and useful information of Internet governance so as to provide practical references for young people to participate in Internet governance-related activities in the future.
Experts from different stakeholder groups were invited to give introductions on Internet governance platforms under the UN framework, EU's “Data Act” (draft) and “Data Governance Act”, overview of key Internet resources management, global domain name system, as well as UA and Chinese IDN etc.
The training programs aims to helping the young people know what’s Internet governance, encouraging them to actively participating in Internet governance and contributing new wisdom to the development of the global Internet.
