Congratulations on the 5 years anniversary of China Internet Illegal Information Reporting Centre (CIIRC)， which was founded on June 10， 2004. CIIRC is sponsored by the Internet Information Service Committee of the Internet Society of China， a non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China.

The mission of CIIRC is to maintain the order of the Internet， uphold the public interests， protect the public， minors in particular， from victimization of illegal and harmful information and enhance self-regulation and self-discipline of the Internet industry in China.

The key functions of CIIRC include receiving public reports and complaints through the website (www.net.china.cn) about illegal and harmful information on the Internet within the border of China， assisting the law enforcement and administrative authorities to handle the illegal and harmful information on the Internet etc.

CIIRC has received more than 1 million public reports and transferred 8，053 law violation cases clues to law enforcement and administration executive bodies since its establishment， according to the Director of CIIRC， Mr. LI Jiaming.
