On July 27, 2022 New Intelligence Conference, guided by Internet Society of China (ISC), was successfully held by Weibo and Sina News. The theme is “Integrating Ecological & Co-creating Values” .

Mr. Shang Bing, President of ISC, pointed out that China’s economy has shifted from a stage of high-speed growth to high-quality development, and stepped into a crucial period of transforming the development mode, optimizing the economic structure and transforming the growth drivers.

To promote the development of artificial intelligence industry, he put forward four suggestions:

The first is to make up for shortcomings and build a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the AI industry. Technology innovation is the development source power, we must persistently strengthen the research on basic theories, key technologies and common technologies related to artificial intelligence, accelerate breakthroughs in key links such as intelligent chips and operating systems.

The second is to build scenarios and demonstrations to further integrate artificial intelligence with the real economy. Adhere to the application of traction, fully explore and release the potential of artificial intelligence technology, build a number of in-depth application scenarios for key industries and fields such as for manufacturing, finance, transportation, health care, people’s livelihood services, create a number of typical industry solutions and benchmark applications, and accelerate the implementation of intelligent technology products in engineering.

The third is to build platforms to promote integration and foster an sustainable industrial ecology. All circles of government, industry, university and research should join hands to build a good industrial cooperation platform, promote the efficient circulation of innovative elements such as technology, capital and talent in the whole society, integrate innovation chains and industrial chains, cultivate a prosperous industrial ecology, make the cake of intelligent economy bigger, and jointly promote the long-term sustainable development of China's artificial intelligence industry.

The fourth is to emphasize standards to ensure safety and create a safe and orderly environment for industrial development. It is necessary to strike a balance between innovative development and effective governance, strengthen industry regulation and standard guidance, strengthen cyber security protection, ensure data security and privacy protection, and explore ways to form a fair, secure and credible AI governance system and regulatory model.

Mr. Shang expressed the hope that the government, industry, university, research and application parties shall take the opportunity to join hands and carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation in technical exchange, data sharing, application market and other aspects. ISC will actively leverage the advantages of industry organizations and play a role as a bridge, gather experts in the field of Internet and artificial intelligence, and jointly promote the innovative development of artificial intelligence industry.
