The 2022 World Internet Conference (WIC) was held in Wuzhen on Nov.9-11，2022.

During the conference, Global Development Initiative Digital Cooperation Forum held on Nov 9, 2022 in a combination of online and offline. With the theme Jointly Building Consensus on Digital Cooperation for a New Era of Global Development, the forum was jointly hosted by Cyberspace Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CAC), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MIIT), and co-organized by the Internet Society of China (ISC). High-level representatives of governments, international organizations, enterprises, technical communities, research institutes and industry associations from home and abroad were invited to share their insights for the forum.

Zhuang Rongwen, Minister of CAC and the Chair of World Internet Conference, Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of MIIT, and Xu Wenguang, Executive Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province of China attended and delivered opening remarks for the forum. Amandeep Singh Gill , Envoy on Technology, Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, Mihailo Jovanovic, Minister, Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, the Republic of Serbia, Daniel Filmus, Minister, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Argentina delivered video messages for the forum. 

Shang Bing, President of ISC, Antonia Hugh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jamaica to China, Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of Thailand to China, Xu Haoliang,UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Director of Bureau for Policy and Programme Support made keynote speeches, representatives from international organizations and enterprises delivered speeches.

Zhuang Rongwen pointed out that China has actively participated in exchanges and cooperation in the digital field under the framework of the Global Development Initiative, proposed constructive solutions on issues such as promoting the healthy development of the digital economy and bridging the digital divide, and contributed China's wisdom. At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation has developed, providing a path for the world to share the development dividend of the digital age. This forum will pool the wisdom and strength of all parties, further promote cooperation in the digital field of global development initiatives, promote balanced, coordinated and inclusive development, and jointly build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

Zhang Yunming introduced the practical measures taken by the MIIT to promote digital infrastructure construction, carry out international multilateral mechanism cooperation, participate in international digital economy governance and other aspects. He suggested that all participants make good use of this Forum to jointly promote the implementation of the initiative, seize digital opportunities, share digital dividends, build a community with a shared future in cyberspace at an early date. 

Xu Wenguang, shared the experiences and practices of Zhejiang Province in seizing new opportunities for digital economy development in the new era and building a digital demonstration zone and a global digital transformation highland.

Speakers from multi-staked representatives shared their insights on topics of  deepening international cooperation on digital economy to inject impetus into global economic development, strengthening capacity building of digital governance to create a new pattern of digital governance cooperation, and sharing the dividends of digital technology development to bridge the digital divide, and improving digital literacy and skills.
