The Seventh Chinese Domain Name Innovation and Application Forum Held in Beijing

On May 15, the 7th Chinese Domain Name Innovation and Application Forum was held in Beijing. With the theme of "New Breakthrough in Application, Win-win Create for the Future", the forum focused on the innovative application and development of Chinese domain names. The forum was guided by the Internet Society of China (ISC) and the China Trademark Association, and organized by ".网址" Registry.
At the forum, Ms. Chen Jiachun, Vice President and Executive Deputy Secretary General of ISC, emphasized the convenience of Chinese domain names for Chinese users and the importance of Chinese culture inheritance, and said that ISC will continue to promote the innovative development of Chinese domain names and improve the application environment.
Mr. Liu Yulin, Director-general of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), proposed that the sustainable and healthy development of Chinese domain names should be promoted in terms of policy, technology, application environment and publicity.
Mr. Liao Fangyu, Chief Scientist of the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, called for more industries to participate in the promotion of innovative applications of Chinese domain names.
Ms. Sally Coston, Interim President and CEO of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) also expressed her support for the development of Chinese domain names through a video message.
Ms.Pei Wei, Deputy Secretary General of ISC, released the Chinese Domain Name Application Test Report at the forum, showing the support of domestic mainstream browsers and well-known applications for Chinese domain names, and pointing out that joint efforts of all parties are still needed to improve the application environment of Chinese domain names.
As a key information infrastructure in the digital era, Chinese domain names are crucial to promoting the development of the digital economy. This forum is organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of China's full functions access to the Internet, and all parties will continue to work together to promote the development of Chinese domain names.
