Organized by the Internet Society of China (ISC), the 2024 (23th) China Internet Conference (CIC) was held at the Beijing National Convention Center from July 9-12. With the theme of "New qualitative changes in 30 years of Internet development in China", the conference brought together more than 1000 representatives from government sector, enterprise, civil society and academic institution, and news media to discuss the future development path of the Internet industry. 

Mr. Zhao Zhiguo, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Mr. Xu Xinchao, Deputy Secretary-general of the Beijing Municipal People's Government, attended the opening ceremony and delivered opening remark. 

Mr. Zhao Zhiguo put forward four thoughts on optimizing infrastructure, cultivating new productivity, empowering new industrialization and supporting new development pattern. 

Mr. Xu Xinchao, pointed out that accelerating the integration of digital intelligence and accelerating the construction of a benchmark city for the global digital economy should be adhered to innovation-driven development, joint contribution and sharing, law-based governance and open cooperation. 

Mr. Shang Bing, President of the ISC, stated four suggestions in his welcome speech on the development of the Internet: consolidating the leading advantage of the basic network, strengthening the innovation capacity of Internet technology innovation, enhancing the pattern of integrated innovation development, and deepening high-level opening-up and cooperation.

The year of 2024 is the 30th anniversary of China's full functions access to the Internet, a theme ceremony "light up the road to the future, light up the new journey" was specially arranged to commemorate the significant event. 

Mr. Wu Hequan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the Expert Advisory Committee of the ISC, delivered a keynote report, pointing out that China has been fully connected to the Internet for 30 years and has made positive contributions to China's social and economic development and livelihood services. He emphasized that in the digital era of the Internet and the new trend of artificial intelligence, the Internet needs to find the right position in the digital transformation and high-quality development in the new era, seize the opportunities of The Times, and realize its mission.

In the Voice of the Industry session, a number of attending guests delivered brilliant speeches, sharing their thoughts and insights on the future development of the Internet. Representatives from China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and other enterprises also shared and exchanged views on the new qualitative change of wisdom exchange, Intelligent Internet and New Quality Productivity. 

In the round table dialogue, Mr. Zhang Chaoyang, Chairman and CEO of Sohu, and Mr. Zhou Hongyi, Founder of 360 Group, shared their unique insights and views on the development of the Internet around the theme of "Ten-year engagement". 

The CIC also held the first "Golden Flash Cup" China Internet Innovation Competition Award Ceremony, academician Wu Hequan presented awards to 12 winning projects.

The Internet Conference of China is an important brand event hosted by the Internet Society of China, which has been successfully held for 22 consecutive sessions.
