On July 3, 2024 the launch meeting of the first China Digital Human Application Competition was held at Wangjiang Campus of Sichuan University in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The conference was co-organized by the Internet Society of China(ISC) and Unicom Online Information Technology Co., Ltd, and co-organized by the School of Computer Science of Sichuan University, the Sichuan Branch of China Unicom, and the Sichuan Association for the Promotion of Digital Entertainment Culture. 

In the presence of more than 300 enterprise representatives, experts, scholars, teachers and students in the field of digital human technology, the competition was officially launched and announced the opening of the first season of “Digital Human Application Innovation Competition”. This season is divided into “Digital Human Application Solution Track” and “Digital Human Creative Design Track”, and is open to a wide range of innovators, entrepreneurs, developers, university students and enterprise teams in the field of digital human to collect innovative works.

Mr. Chang Jian, Deputy General Manager of Unicom Online, expressed his hope to nurture a new generation of digital human applicators and empower creators in the digital era through “promoting learning through competition”. Mr. Chu Liangyin, Vice President of Sichuan University, encouraged teachers and students to actively engage in research and practice in the field of digital human, and to contribute to the development of the digital human industry. 

Mr. Wu Suoning, member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Internet Society of China, delivered a keynote report entitled "Digital Human, the Access to the AI Era", emphasizing the importance of digital human innovation and encouraging creators to join. 

Ms. Zhou Shuyan, Director of the Innovation and Talent Department of the ISC, pointed out that the promotion of the development and application of digital Human requires the concerted efforts of the government, industry, academia, research as well as application. She said that cultivating digital human industry talents through the competition is a path of development that is educational entertainment, and revealed that the results of the first season of the event will be unveiled at the China Digital Congress in Beijing in the second half of the year.
