ISC Publishes Chinese Anti-Spam Survey Report for 2013 Q1

The 2013 Q1 Survey Report on Anti-Spam in China has been published recently.
According to the report, in the Q1 of 2013, the average weekly spam number of Chinese e-mail users receive reached 14.6, the number decreased 0.2 quarter on quarter, and slipped 2.1 year-over-year. The proportion of spam in the average weekly e-mail reached 37.37%, which increased 3.97% from the second quarter, and made up 1.77% from a year ago.
In the Q1 of 2013, the following are the three major spam categories: fraud (68.3%), virus (49.3%) and website promotion (40.1%) spam. According to e-mail users’ feedback, fraud and virus spam are the top-2 disgusting spam, coming in at 32.0% and 27.2% respectively.
Under the organizing and leading of Internet Society of China (ISC), 12321 Unsolicited Electronic Message Complaining and Reporting Center and the Messaging Anti-Abuse Center of ISC took joint efforts to carry out the Chinese Anti-Spam Survey Report. Finished on May 2, 2013, this is the 32nd report, with a total of 3546 copies of valid samples, which mainly shows the e-mail users feedback in the Q3 of 2013 in China.
