2017 China Internet Conference Opened on July 11

The 16th China Internet Conference, hosted by Internet Society of China (ISC), was launched on July 11, 2017 at China National Convention Center, with the theme of “Ubiquitous Connectivity, New Vitality, Industrial Convergence”.
Distinguished guests attended the Opening Ceremony, including Mr. Miao Wei, the Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Mr. Li Yizhong, the Standing Committee member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Deputy Director of Economic Committee and President of China Industry and Economy League, Mr. Yang Xiaowei, the Vice Minister of Cyberspace Administration of China and Mr. Wu Haiying, the Secretary General of China Association for Science and Technology.

Renowned foreign guests also invited to attend, included the inductees of Internet Hall of Fame Mr. Paul Vixie, Ms. Radia Perlman, Mr. John Cioffi, Ms. Kanchana Kanchanasut, and Director General of APNIC Mr. Paul Wilson, Founder of Open Garden Mr. Micha Benoliel, and VP of IID of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Mr. Hew Wee Choong.

Mr. Wu Hequan, the President of ISC delivered the opening remark to address warm welcome to the participants from government, experts, entrepreneurs and media as well as express sincere thankfulness to the support from all walk of life.

Minister Miao Wei pointed out in his address that China’s Internet developed rapidly as an emerging industry these years with three advantages of infrastructure, Internet users and application in spite of accessing to Internet a little bit late. Many Internet companies ranked top in the world and new commercial activities and new business models emerged one after another. Meanwhile, the pattern of Internet development in China gets wide recognition along with deepening governance of Internet industry and notable improvement of industrial ecosystem.

Vice Minister Yang Xiaowei said that cyberspace affairs is “protracted war” in China, Internet and information technology development will always accompanies with the mission and responsibility.
During the High-level Dialogue part, Mr. Wu Hequan and Mr. Zhang Weiying, the Co-founder of Peking University National School of Development and Dean of Peking University Center for Network Economy, had a deep conversation over Internet economy and entity economy.

During the “Voice of Entrepreneur” part, representatives of China Internet companies delivered speeches, including Mr. Zhu Gaoming, the Deputy General Manager of CITIC Group, Mr. Wang Wenjing, the President & CEO of Yonyou Network Co., Ltd., Mr. Qi Xiangdong, the Chairman & CEO of 360 Enterprise Security Group, Mr. Gao Qin, the Translation Research and Development Scientist of Google, Ms. Yang Meiling, the President of Huitian Network Technology Co., Ltd., Mr. Yu Chengdong, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group and President of Huawei Device Co., Ltd., and Mr. Shen Xiaowei, the CTO of IBM Greater China and Dean of IBM China Institute.
The 16th CIC lasts three days with over 22 forums around the hot field of Internet of Things, Internet agriculture, online education, Fintech, electronic sports, Internet information consumption, Internet rule of law and cloud computing etc.

Mr. Lu Wei, the Secretary General of ISC and Mr. Lang Yongcun, the Senior Vice President of Zhaogang.com presided over the Conference.
